UNITED NATIONS - Following the mandates of the President, H.E. Ricardo Martinelli, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice-President, H.E. Juan Carlos Varela, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Panama to the United Nations, H.E. Pablo Antonio Thalassinós, met with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) with an aim to rally support for the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Panama and the United States.
In the meeting, held on January 11, 2010 at the Mission of Panama to the United Nations, the AJC was represented by its directors from a diverse array of American States, including Florida, California, Texas and New York, and offered to support Panama’s efforts to ratify the Free Trade Agreement among its contacts in the United States’ Executive and Congress branches.
Established in 1906, the AJC is an international think tank and advocacy organization of great political influence that works to defend causes of Jewish interest, and is composed of 40 offices around the world.
