Canadian Authorities Visit the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations

UNITED NATIONS – The Ambassador of Panama to the United Nations, H.E. Pablo Antonio Thalassinós, hosted the Deputy Vice Minister of Global Affairs of Canada, H.E. Keith Christie, in the Mission of Panama, on the sidelines of the latter’s visit to the United Nations’ headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, the most important matters of multilateral and bilateral affairs were reviewed, including the status of political and commercial relations among both countries. Both authorities reiterated the commitment to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

It was a propitious occasion for Ambassador Thalassinós to detail the economic and social programs that the Government of Panama is presently undertaking.

During the meeting, Vice Minister Christie informed about the preparations that the Government of Canada is taking in its capacity as hosts of the next G-8 and G-20 Leaders’ Summit, to be held in Toronto at the end of July of this year.
